In searing heat, Keady defeated Whitecross in Keady on Saturday evening.  Keady made their intentions clear from the outset when Nicole Conway fired over a point after a mere twenty seconds.  Although they had almost all the possession, it was another five minutes before Nicole Conway doubled her tally with an excellent point.
Keady suffered the loss of Connie Conway with a fractured finger and hope to have her back soon.
When play resumed, Keady continued to attack and Sarah Molloy hit a sublime long range point before taking fantastic goal to put Keady ahead by six points.  Nicole Conway hit her third point of the game, in the 20th minute.
Whitecross started to come into the game and hit three points on the trot to go in at halftime trailing by four.

Keady were disappointed with the amount of wides that they had hit and were to work on this second half.  Emma Donnelly fired into the net on 38 minutes followed with a point for Sarah Molloy.  Kerryann Tomany was exceptional throughout the game and was rewarded for her hard work with two fantastic points within a minute to put Keady ten points ahead.  The home side were in full control now and finished off with a second goal for Emma Donnelly and a well taken point for Nicole Conway.
